Billing

Inala Primary Care is a mixed billing practice, meaning we have a small private fee for most consultations & services. However, we do offer bulk-billing and a discounted concessional rate for eligible patients. Please Click Here to visit our fees page for more information.

Government funded vaccines, Health Assessments, Diabetes Reviews & Care Plans are Bulk-Billed for all patients (with a valid Medicare Card). Patients attending IPC for of BSCDS (Brisbane South Complex Diabetes Service) and HepReach clinics will continue to be bulk-billed for these services.

Appointments

To book an appointment you may call the practice on 07 3275 5444, go online at http://www.inalaprimarycare.org.au, or download the HotDoc app and make your appointment through the app. Of course, you can also visit our reception team and make an appointment in person.
Please check in with reception when you arrive for every appointment. This will notify the doctor that you are in our waiting area. Our team and patient community are valued so abusive or offensive patients will be asked to leave.

If you have a complex appointment or are unsure which appointment type suits you best, please call the practice for clarification.

If a patient requires an interpreter, please book a Long consultation.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, it is extremely important to phone to let us know.

$20 Cancellation/Late or Non-Attendance fees apply! 

IMPORTANT to Note: Cancellations must be made at least 4 hours prior to your appointment time to avoid paying the cancellation fee.

If you arrive after your appointment time has elapsed, you will need to pay the non-attendance fee prior to booking another appointment.

Dressings

If you require a dressing change or removal you will need to book an appointment with a doctor first.

Dressings and consumables are not refunded by Medicare and may be privately charged in the future.

New Patients

We are currently accepting new patients. Please call the practice to make your appointment as we do not allow new patients to book online.

Telephoning your Doctor

Please note that doctors are not always available to receive and return phone calls.

It is always preferable to make an appointment to speak to your doctor.

In an emergency, please call 000.

SMS Reminders

We have an appointment reminder system that uses SMS, so it is important that we have your correct contact details on file.

We may also contact via SMS or phone to advise patients when regular health checks are due.

Final recall letters for certain health services are sent by registered post to meet medical legal requirements.

Results

An appointment is required to obtain results.

Our reception staff do not have access to your personal health information and cannot give results over the phone.

If you are required to make a follow up appointment regarding your results you will receive an SMS notification to book an appointment with your doctor. We will send out a series of 3 SMS reminders to inform you of this process. We will follow up with a phone call if we have not had a response from you. If no appointment has been made, a letter will be sent out to the address we have on file.

Medical Records & Privacy

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to always maintain the security of personal health information and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Full details of our privacy policy are available on request from reception.

If you are registered with the national digital record system My Health Record your medical information can be uploaded and shared with health care providers in hospitals if needed in an accident or emergency. Our reception staff can assist you with registration if required.

Transfer of medical records

If you wish to transfer your health record to another service provider, please ask your new provider to send our practice a transfer application form.

This must be signed by you to authorise the exchange. Alternatively, if you would like IPC to obtain records from another service please see reception for a transfer application.

Applications for the transfer of health records will be processed within 30 days of receiving the request. Due to confidentiality reasons, we do not send patient information via email.

We always welcome comments and suggestions regarding the care you receive at this practice. We are committed to continually improving our patient care and receiving regular and honest feedback helps us to do so. If you have a concern about the service you received, we request that you submit your concern in writing via our Feedback Form located in reception.
