Appointments

To book an appointment you may call the practice on 07 3275 5444, go online at www.inalaprimarycare.org.au, or download the HotDoc app and make your appointment through the app. Of course, you can also visit our reception team and make an appointment in person.

Please check in with reception when you arrive for every appointment.  This will notify the doctor that you are in our waiting area.  Our team and patient community are valued so abusive or offensive patients will be asked to leave.

Appointment Types

No Show Appointments

  •  Standard Consultation (10 mins)
  •  Long Consultation (20 mins)
  • Extended Consultation (30 mins or above)
  •  Telehealth/Videohealth

If you have a complex appointment, or are unsure which appointment type suits you best, please call the practice for clarification.

If a patient requires an interpreter, please book a Long consultation.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please phone to cancel so that we can offer that appointment to another patient.

If you arrive after your appointment time has elapsed, you will need to rebook.

Failure to show on three occasions will result in needing to book appointments on the day required ie no pre-booking.

Dressings

If you require a dressing change or removal you will need to book an appointment with a doctor first.

Dressings and consumables are not refunded by Medicare and may be privately charged in the future.

New Patients

Please advise our lovely receptionist if you are a new patient at time of booking, as you will need to be booked in for a longer consultation for your first time visiting our practice. We do this so we can take the time needed to get to know you and your history so we can deliver the best care possible.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for your appointment, as upon arrival you will need to fill out our new patient registration form, so please bring along your medicare details, as well as your personal contact information. You can view a copy of our Patient Registration form here.

Telephoning your Doctor

Please note that doctors are not always available to receive and return phones calls. You may leave a message if you would like your doctor to contact you and your call will be returned as soon as practical by the most suitable person. However, it is always preferable to make an appointment to speak to your doctor. In an emergency, please call 000.

SMS Reminders

We have an appointment reminder system that uses SMS, so it is important that we have your correct contact details on file. We may also contact via SMS or phone to advise patients when regular health checks are due. Final recall letters for certain health services are sent by registered post to meet medico legal requirements.

Results

An appointment is required to obtain results. Our reception staff do not have access to your personal health information and cannot give results over the phone. If you are required to make a follow up appointment regarding your results you will receive an SMS notification to book an appointment with your doctor. We will send out a series of 3 SMS reminders to inform you of this process. We will follow up with a phone call if we have not had a response from you. If no appointment has been made, a letter will be sent out to the address we have on file.
